Presidential Politics:
Al
Gore Jr.
George W. Bush Jr.
Who will win the Republican nomination and face Al Gore in the General Election?
It seems that everybody thinks
it will be the Honorable Gov. Bush.
The Bush and McCain race will probably not last much past March 7th. Bush still thinks he is the pre-ordained king/president of the rich. He says he is from the norm and for the common man--but he acts like a John Wayne know-it-all. Don't you hate the way Bush speaks more and more like he is the tough Texan that doesn't really have to specify much to the press or the public. He comes across on TV like he thinks he is the right guy and anyone that doesn't like his style must be dysfunctional.
Everybody gave John McCain hell for calling Gov. Bush someone that avoids the truth like Bill Clinton. I think that McCain was right--"Dubya" DOES AVOID THE TRUTH AND SOUNDS JUST LIKE CLINTON IN HIS INTERVIEWS!
I think we will all tire of Gov. Bush's style of sidestepping questions that are asked of him. He rambles about how much he has done and how noone has the right to expect a straight answer from him. He may be a good man--but he is not ready for the Presidency.
We need a presidential candidate with more experience than Bush as he only has been in office for 5-6 years as governor of Texas.
I think that Al Gore eclipses the experience of Governor Bush. If by some chance Bush is elected President--we can only hope that the States' make good choices in their legislative decisions or Bush will be out on his ear in 4 years for not doing anything (as he does not believe the Federal Government should interfere with States' Rights.).
One last issue--Bush should not give all the supposed surplus money back in taxes. If our economy goes down then our revenues will decrease. So we lower the tax rate without saving for a rainy day and paying the off the national debt...
Only the most conservative Libertarians would be that selfish...only anarchists would demand the destruction of the Federal Government so that individual families will maybe get a few thousand dollars in tax cuts.
Bush is really dumb as he caters to the rich establishment of the Republican Party. To add insult to injury--Bush will never end Roe vs. Wade--he only claims to be that kind of religious conservative to confuse and deceive those that are anti-abortion.
I would encourage my friends to think as a voter and choose either a legitimate pro-life candidate, such as Alan Keyes or Reform Party candidate Pat Buchanan or choose a candidate that is truly concerned with "real reform" on taxes, national debt, and saving for a rainy day, such as John McCain.
It would even be better for you to think about voting for Ralph Nader or Pat Buchanan as they both want to save American jobs from going overseas. On the other hand George W. Bush is for big business profiteering and sending American jobs to Mexico and to slave labor camps in China.
Concluding Comment: Gov. George W. Bush refuses to take stands on tough issues and will not answer 'straight' questions. Bush plays games and avoids in his interviews. Bush may be a good guy but he does not have enough experience as an elected official and should not become the next President of the United States.
Bush would even be a worse spot on the White House record than his father was as president.
Personally, I think Jeb Bush would make a better Presidential candidate in about 8 years. Gov. Bush (George W.) is too arrogant. He needs to learn how to speak to America with a heavy heart (like Lyndon Johnson).
After reading the above column you will understand why I would rather focus on Jesus than politics. Only Jesus is total satisfaction. Only the Father and the Holy Spirit truly ease our fear and give direction in this confusing life..."If you are thirsty, come and drink water! If you don't have any money, come eat what you want! Drink wine and milk without paying a cent. Why waste your money on what really isn't food? Why work hard for something that doesn't satisfy?
Listen carefully to me and you will enjoy the very best of foods." (Isaiah 55:1-2)
"Friends, watch out! Don't let evil thoughts
or doubts make any of you turn from the living God. You must encourage
one another each day. You must keep on while there is still time that can
be called 'today.' We must not stop believing that we can enter into the
place of rest Jesus is preparing for us--we don't want to miss out!"
(Hebrews 3:12-13; 14:1)
We have it so good right now!!! Sure we have to struggle to pay bills and accomplish goals...but every day we wake up and can breathe and exist with very little pain or suffering.
Try to brighten up and believe. Smile and don't think that you are ever alone. You are never alone...you have many friends on earth and your Father in Heaven taking care of you!
Enjoy the coming spring!
"Be
encouraged this week, you will make the feat!"
