BIBLE  PROPHECY

SODOMY

Definition:  Unnatural sexual relations, especially between male persons or between a human being and an animal (Sodom, to whose people this practice was imputed).  Funk & Wagnall’s Standard Encyclopedic Dictionary

Genesis 19:4-5 (NASV)Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.”

OLD TESTAMENT LAW
Leviticus 18:1, 22-23 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, … ‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. ‘Also you shall not have intercourse with any animal to be defiled with it, nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.
Leviticus 20:1, 13 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, … ‘If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT OLD TESTAMENT LAW

Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
Mark 7:7-9 ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’  “Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.” He was also saying to them, “You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.

WHAT JESUS’ APOSTLE PAUL TELLS US

1 Timothy 1:9-10 …realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:25-27 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

THE BAD NEWS

As you can see in the above Bible verses, homosexuality is not the only violation of God’s Law.  In fact, the Bible states that no one is good enough to go to heaven.  We have all broken God’s Laws and all deserve to be in Hades (hell) forever.

THE GOOD NEWS

John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Peter 2:24 And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
Romans 5:6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
Acts 2:31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that HE WAS NEITHER ABANDONED TO HADES, NOR DID His flesh SUFFER DECAY.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
John 10:28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.
John 3:16,18 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

BELIEVE AND RECEIVE THE FREE GIFT

Since eternal life is a free gift, not a reward, God is not asking you to make any promises or commitments to Him.  As you see in the above Bible verses, God wants you to put your faith and trust in God the Son, Jesus Christ.  You must believe that you need a Savior; that you have sinned (broken God’s Laws) and deserve to be in Hades (hell) forever.  You must believe that Jesus was God in flesh, suffering on nails at the cross, and suffering in Hades for three days to pay your sin debt in full.  Then He resurrected, after purchasing the free gift of eternal life for you.  The above verses make it clear that if you believe these truths you have eternal life, total and everlasting forgiveness.  Now God’s Holy Spirit will give you the desire and the power to have victory over the sins in your life.
